Open the rear hatch door and go to the side of the car that has the tailliaght that you want to remove. look at the side of the taillight assembly that faces the inside of the car. You'll see two 'flaps' of plastic on the vertical plastic piece of the taillight that sits next to the weatherstripping. You can pry those tabs up with a flat blade screw driver to get access to the screws that hold the taillight in.

remove the two screws from the taillamp. then, wrap a cotton shirt or rag around the blade of a screwdriver and move to the side of the car. Put the screwdriver at the front of the taillight housing between the taillight and the painted surface of the car. Gently use the screwdriver to pry the housing rearward with one hand and use your other hand to pull on the inside edge of the housing. There are two plastic dowels for the taillight that hold the front in place and they can be very tight, so use even pressure front and rear and the light assembly will 'pop' out. the bulbs are easily accessible with the taillight removed.

to reinstall, just align the plastic dowels with their receiving holes and push the light into place. Then reinstall the screws.

it should take about 5 minutes to change the taillight.

hope that answers your question

there will be some sort of snap off cover INSIDE the trunk space. Pull it off, and remove the screws and wiring from the light.
