I'm for it. Watching a grandfather decay at the hands of both Parkinson's and Alzheimer's has made me actually hate people who argue against it. If you don't support it, allow yourself to rot away, each day loosing your humanity, but don't force the torture on others.
That and the US is loosing a key technological advantage (Medical technology) to other countries in the world. Thank God us Californians are paying to develop it because when we figure out how to allow paralyzed victims to walk again it will be the "righteous" people in the Bible belt who will be shelling out cash to pay for Californian technology. Turn back time and you realize that the arguments against stem cells are the same used against Jenner's vaccination's...

All for it. Stem cells get dumped out every time there is an abortion, why not capture them and make some good come from them?
Those opposed to stem cell research can simply refuse to use the drugs that are developed from stem cell research. Don't make the rest of us suffer with diseases because of your ethical beliefs.

100% for it. I go to Edinboro University which has the largest physically handicap population. I just from talk around campus, I can see how stem cell research's potential is really important to a lot of people. Even if it means taking away "potential" lives. Because as far as I'm concern, those "lives" are either in a freezer or are just a growth of cells. Thats not potential enough for me to be considered a life.

I'm 110% for it.
When stem cells can cure blindness, hearing, and possibly Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, why not go for it? In fact, I would like stem cell research to go as far as seeing if it can cure cancer and AIDS.
This is a very valuable resource we've come into. Why waste it?

I'm partial to stem cell research beacuse my daughter has Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2, and would benefit from stem cell research. So as sad as it is where they get the stem cells, if my baby can benifit from it, I'm for it.

I am for stem cell research. I am opposed to the US government spending tax dollars on stem cell research. Medical research is not the responsibility of government.

Even though I am an RN in a neonatal hospital, I am against it. I think that the government is pushing this issue for their own experiments. I have to talk to parents about stem cell donations and I hate it. But it is part of my job. So I just put a smile on my face and hand them some info.

For. I understand that embryos have value as a life, but NO WAY does that value outweigh that of a person that has already formed relationships and bonds in the world. I think you have to make a trade-off and consider what action will lead to the "greatest good". Yeah, we may have to kill a few embryos now, but we could be saving the lives (and quality of life) for millions in the future.

I believe it is not our place to decide who lives or who dies. and that is what stem cell research requires.
