Mr. G. the best time to do that is to wait until all the needles fall off. Sometimes you'll get 2 or 3 years out of Christmas trees.

Just put a plastic tree bag over it, leave it up, then pull the bag off for next year. Save you a whole lot of decorating!

I wouldn't bother now, just leave it there, it won't be long before you can spray it silver, and decorate it with baubles and lights, even the cobwebs will enhance the look of it, if sprinkle some glitter on them. Ha ha ha :-)))))
