Is Cuba socialist or is it communist? What is the difference if any? Does their political system work?

It's essentially the same thing, but represents different degrees of government control and ownership.

Does the political system work? For who? Dictatorships always work ok for the dictator, but it doesn't work really well for the people. They are poorer now than they were in 1950. Yes, they're all EQUALLY poor, but what's the attraction of that? I'd rather have freedom and opportunity, than be guaranteed poverty and equality.

I don't see any difference between socialist and communist. Both are totalitarian forms of government. Fidel Castro claims to be a communist. He is a dictator. Their political system does not work. Castro has to fight to keep his people in his country. Cubans are still using cars that were built in the 1950's. Only their hard work and ingenuity keeps those cars running.

since people try to leave there by the boat load, I'd say no. I think Cuba is communist. There is a slight difference in theory only, they are both oppressive. Not on this planet, despite what Dems "think".

They are socialist communists if that makes sense.. And do you think they would try going across the ocean in emptied out refrigerators if it was going good?

Nothing works in cuba. They are stuck with cars from the 1950's.

Socialism/communism (same thing) doesn't work.

there is no difference, and none of that has worked. Those people are poor and starving, why do you think they risk their lives to get here.
