partial-birth abortions or any abortions for that matter are terrible, heinous acts which should in no way shape or form be legal. for god sake people if you dont want the kid let it live and put it up for adoption instead of murdering it....who knows maybe that baby that you mutilated could have found the cure for cancer someday but instead you got selfish and took away its chance

---its not a matter of congress getting involved in doctor-patient relationships, its a matter of taking an innocent life away from a living thing....in my opinion once that little heart starts beating, its a human being and it has the right to live

Abortions of all kind should be allowed and legal.

This is a subject that shouldn't even be in the courts and in Congress. What a woman does with her body is her own business. If she wants to have an abortion, that's her rights. Especially under the consideration that for 9 months, that baby is acting as a parasite to her body.

So, I'm all for abortion. Everyone should be. And if you're for taking away women's rights, freedoms, and liberties, I'm sorry for you.

this term "partial birth abortion" was invented by the right wing in an attempt to frame the abortion debate. fewer than 1 percent of all abortions fall into this category, but the right wants you to think abortion and "partial birth abortion" are one and the same. from what I have read, some late-term abortions are recommended by doctors to save the woman's life, while others are advocated by women who choose to end their pregnancy at a late stage. But again, the hysterical people don't want you to know that late-term abortions are sometimes medically necessary. do we really want Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia and Samuel Alito second-guessing the advice a woman gets from her doctor??

Opinions on abortion, and this procedure, in particular, are so varied and so personal that there is no public consensus. The government has no interest in this aspect of the private lives of it's citizens. Therefore, the government has no reason for getting involved in this business at all.

Legislating medical practice is not one of the congressional powers granted by the constitution. Those powers not specifically granted to Congress are constitutionally reserved for the states' to decide. The Court is just plain wrong on this.

So there is no logical, moral, or legal reason for Congress to put it's big fat feet in the mix at all.

I am soooo against partial-birth abortions. I am pro choice, but I think you should've made up your mind by then.

the only reason that someone should have a late abortion would be is if having the baby would be life threatening to the mother....you should have made up your mind before them..

All abortion should be illegal. It is murder, and the basic right to life is destroyed.

I say "yay!" and do a little jig. It's barbaric, unecessary and tantamount to murder. And it's about damn time.
