Most serious goldfish fanciers and better books on the subject recommend you keep them by themselves to prevent possible damage to the bubbles. I have never kept that particular variety so can't speak from personal experience one way or the other. I can say though due to the overwhelming support from excellent sources, if I were to get one I would certainly keep it alone.

Bubble eyes are passive fish and would do well with any community fish. They are commonly kept with goldfish, moors, guppies, tetras, etc... Be careful that there are no sharp objects in your tank. If the bubble around the eye gets punctures it usually leads to infection and quite often will kill your fish.

Bubble eyes are a type of goldfish. You can really only keep them with other goldfish, because they like cooler water, usually around 72-74 degrees F. You can't keep them with tropical fish, such as bettas, platies, tetras, mollies, etc. becase those fish like warmer water. Also, goldfish excrete a lot of wastes, so you can't keep as many in a tank as you would a different fish, such as a tropical fish.

I would say to put it in species tank and no sharp deco as the fish might get poked in the bubble.
