Tupac stated one of my all-time favorites;
I think that is a probable statement because no matter how old the wars [segregational wars, fighting wars, WAR in general], those who fought in them will always be remembered no matter what they did.

I can't say this is the most thought-provoking thing I ever heard, but Bill Maher said this worthy, thought-provoking statement sometime after 9/11, and again after the Virginia Tech shootings. This is his response to some people's attempts to label all the fallen as "heroes" (especially after 9/11):

"Victims find themselves in harm's way. Heroes put themselves in harm's way."

Datcrazy: I don't know if George Harrison was the first to say this, but the Beatles recorded his song "Within You, Without You", which has the line, "...and life goes on within you and without you." The song is in the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
