There are companies that make supercharger kits for a variety of cars, the 944 included. However, what you are likely to find is there is a very good reason it's not a path many people travel.

First, you will spend a lot of money to make decent power gains while giving up some of the very good reliability of the 944 engine. Once you've done this, you will find that with the new power, the previously potent brakes will become a little overmatched for the task at hand. Likewise for the suspension. What was once an excellent overall package is now in need of other upgrades. And if you pursue getting everything back in balance to handle the new power, you will have found that you've spent many times in excess what you would have spent for a 944 Turbo, and that you still don't have a car that would either match up with that car, or come close to it's value if resold.

If your main goal is to go faster, look first at the driver: invest in some driver education; get some autocrosses under your belt and some track time. Nothing will make your car faster than this step. If you still want more performance from the car, look at improving mechanical grip with better tires or anti-roll bars (these along with greater driver skill will make the 944 a much quicker car).

But if your goal is simply more power, then the best, and ultimately less expensive route, is to sell your 944 and look at a different car.

Porsche 944 models are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, while others have a 2.7-liter. The 2.7 is actually 2655cc. To your question I would buy a stock Turbo and get the same power with half the money spent.

paul S is 10000% correct here.

first improve the driver, then the car. You can double your power and grip and keep your lap times the same if your not a capable enough driver.

and if you want high power out of a 944, then go buy either a 944 turbo or something american.

In almost every case, when you feel the urge to start "tweaking" an older Porsche, it's time to get a newer one. They are awesome cars as a complete package, but once they start feeling tame, that's the sign your addiction has built up a further tolerance, and it's going to take more more more to get the same high. Welcome to the world of Porsche ownership. :)

No such thing as a 944 2.6L engine...

There is a way, but I advise NOT doing it. You'll lose hp, and it will screw up the whole engine eventually.
