hello everyone has anyone ever had or ever heard of a nurse cutting the tip off the needle before depo provera injection here is what happened this was almost 2 years ago i went to get my depo shot and the nurse broke the tip of the birthcontrol off then when to give my my injection in my right arm it didn't work at firt she tried to push the birthcontrol in but only alittle would so she pulled it back out said it was probably not sharp enough cut or broke the tip of the needle off with some thing then re: gave me my depo provera shot wich worked but because i have never had this happen or ever heard of this happening i got my next 2 depo injections in my right butt cheek the other place it is given both of the 2 shots left sunken in indents in my skin and muscle were she gave me the injections one is lower than the other like the middle of my right but cheek and i have had a dull numbing pain were the indents are and going all down my right leg thank you for any answers

this dull numbing pain has nver gone away does any one know of the chances she gave me the injection wrong and hit my sciatic nerve i have felt the pain all day every day for almost 2 years now just some days are worse than others I really appreciate all the answers I get thank you every one in advance for your consideration and for leaving your answers have a great day everyone :):):)

my Dr keeps trying to tell me this has nothing to do with my sciatic nerve but in 2 years of telling him it's never gone away he has not done any tests to find out why could this be he might think it was from the nurse and doesn't want to tell me thats whatt is from every time i ask if the shot could have hit my nerve my dr autamaticly says no but he works with the nurse why would no test have been done in almost 2 years thanks again for your answers:):):)

No, I have never heard of a nurse cutting off the tip of a needle for an injection before.

Because of the pain that you are noticing it's possible that she could have hit a nerve (such as the sciatic) instead of the muscle but this definitely needs to be evaluated by a dr.

I've never heard of a nurse breaking a needle tip, and my X is a nurse.

I would find another doctor, and look for a neurologist about the possible sciatica which is less fun than no fun at all.
