Going by the stuff I've read, the Heroes fan favorites seem to be Hiro, Peter, and Claire. What is it about these characters that make people connect with them?
I personally like Sylar, Bennet, Claude, Mohinder, and Nathan (especially Sylar-as-Nathan).

Eeeewww! You like the bad guy? There's something wrong with that, I think!! ;-)
So, with regard to Claire...I guess, what's not to love? She's beautiful, young, smart, and close with her (adopted) family. Not to mention the fact that she's apparently the key to saving the world!
Hiro is fabulous! I think he's a great example of how we all have a latent hero inside ourselves...He knows that destiny has a path for him, and he's trying to follow that path. If only all of us could have such a clear view of our own futures!
Peter is...Well, Peter is the ultimate Hero! Nathan tried to talk him out of using his powers, but Peter knew that he could use them for good. And WOW! What powers he has!
My other favorites are Bennet and Parkman...Bennet because he appears to be on the side of good, working subversively on the side of the bad guys. I love to see the bad guys' plot foiled! Gooo Bennet! I like Parkman for two reasons. One is that he's just such a "normal" guy...he looks like he'd be fun to watch a game and drink a beer with. Also, I think his special power is kinda cool...you'd have to learn how to control it, but really, it would be pretty handy!

I love Hiro because he is adorable and sweet and has such great optimism. Peter is another fave of mine because he has the best powers of them all and I could really see him leading the other "special" people in a Magneto and the Brotherhood type role (but not as mean and narrow minded). I love Sylar too. He is such a great villain and I can't wait to see more of his past and maybe how he discovered his power.

Hiro can time travel and everyone wishes that they could do that for whatever their reasons might be.....to change the past, see the future, whatever.
Claire can regenerate....so she can't die. Who wouldn't want that?
Peter can do anything that another hero near him can do. So he can learn how to be invisible. That would be a neat skill to have, as well as the others: flying, regenerating, time travel, being able to move through objects, make machines do whatever you want (Micah does that).
That's why I think they are the faves.

I just like Peter because his powers are cool. I want to be able to think of someone and take their power. And he's the good guy, you know? I think people tend to root for the good people, even if their powers are lame. I like everyone in the show, though. Except Sylar...he can suck it.

I like Hiro cause that is just a bitchin power. he can stop time, slow it down, leap forward and backwards, and he can travel to any point in space at any time he wants to be at.
