I went to my gp today to ask her for a prescription of Norethisterone to take to delay my period at the end of this month and she had no idea what it was. Instead she advised me to start BirthControl and just skip the white pills.

Will norethisterone work better than doing the whole back to back pill thing? and if so, how do I get a prescription now?

I would recommend consulting a gynecologist about this issue. As for taking the pill back to back to stop periods, yes it can work but it takes longer to adjust to taking just the hormone pills than just taking the whole pack of pills.

I would also recommend a consultation with a gynecologist because they may be able to help you figure out what is going on with your period if you are having problems with super heavy flow each month.
