made it look like the cops handled the immigration rally in Los Angeles illegally?

When they beat some of the media? and women and kids.. "legals"

We know there a great Police officers who really do a brave great job...Sadly enough since the Rodney king Video aired we have seen another side to the way some of them use their Authority unjustly...

This has nothing to do with immigrants legal or not-
Why dont they use that force where and it is needed-

Why do some shoot to kill? Why do some have the beat them first mentality?

I have the highest respects for the good ones and my hat goes off to them who put there lives on the line daily..

But did that really solve anything?

And there is no "other side" that the TV did not show..Nothing that bad could have made them WANT to use their club on other humans such as them self..Camera crew women kids.. at a peacful small rally in America? C'mon-
This is not right-and again they will get a slap of the wrist and cintinue..

Get ready for an essay Paul lol!!
This is a great question and topic for discussion. I’ll try to put all biases aside to answer. I don’t know much about this incident, but I find it hard to believe that everyone at the rally was peacefully protesting, since people get so nasty these days, protest anything and everything and get away with it. Fear and anger spreads quickly in a group. If things get dangerously out of hand, I don’t think rubber bullets are too cruel. It’s my understanding that no one was seriously injured or killed, and that they only had flesh wounds. Tasers are a lot more damaging, 50,000 volts.

I tuned out the news a long time ago, so I only hear about bits and pieces of things that go on in the world. Sometimes we have to do this to keep our sanity and focus on more important things. I guess this news was hard for you to tune out since you live in LA. and everybody is talking about it there.

Did the media make it look like the cops handled the situation illegally? ABSOLUTELY! You know how I know? The “media” has been doing this for years about every piece of controversial news they can get their hands on. They are all about money and they don’t give a darn if their irresponsible reporting leads to destruction of this country and safety of our citizens. They are liars with a capital L.

Yeah, there are good and bad eggs in every profession, but I’m getting tired of the media ragging on the Police. Maybe it’s because I respect every citizen’s right to feel secure in their own country. The LAPD have to deal with more dangerous situations than any other police department in America (I think). They are stuck in a catch-22 because if they shoot when necessary, they could lose their jobs and good reputations. If they don’t shoot, the same thing can happen.

The police are human too. I know I lose my temper from time to time and I can’t imagine having to act quickly in a crisis, along with other officers at the scene to protect themselves and others. Imagine a football game where the quarterback was not calling the plays. The players would be running all over the field willy nilly and never score a touchdown lol.

I’d rather trust them than not trust because I see myself as a potential victim, not a potential criminal. Women and children are the victims in these scenarios.

Now I’m going to put my bias back on lol. Illegals have no right to be here, and they should be thankful for what they’ve already been allowed to have, and every credible opinion poll shows that the majority of American Citizens (legal, from any background or ethnicity) feel the same way.

In short, you should question every single thing you hear from the media and look for other perspectives before concluding anything, just like you are doing here. YA is a great place for this! I like the search box because you can look for discussions on anything and everything under the sun using only a few key words.

I posted a similar question for the people of Latin America.

I saw the news and was pis*ed of. The LAPD had no reason to abuse the people like that. Man, they even hurt the women and children. And a helpless woman who just wanted coffee form McDonald's, got in this mess. This includes the Spanish reporters who wanted to demonstrate the rally's progress. It was ridiculous and unacceptable for the LAPD to so such action.

According to the LAPD, they felt threatened by them. How are these helpless people are a menace to a police force? LAPD has armor for God's sakes!

The rally would've had gone alright and PEACEFUL, if the LAPD wouldn't have done such stupid and needless act. They were just there to cause problems and make them look like the bad guys. All other rallies across America met there goal without any police brutality. Only Los Angeles went through this injustice! It's fu***** RIDICULOUS!

I know what's wrong and right. And this was wrong. Peace!

*Sorry if this has nothing to do with your question. By the way, the media portrayed both sides of the event that took place at MacArthur Park. I saw all from the English to the Spanish news.

*I hope you understand.

Cops operate under different guidelines, which are heavily weighted in their favor.
If you so much as place your pinky finger on a cop, they have the right to shoot you on the spot. Self-preservation is #1 in their code book.
Bearing that in mind, it is difficult to determine how a cop perceives any given moment of an incident, and they often don't have the luxury of time in making snap decisions.
Did they over-react? Probably.
Were they within the law? Probably.
Don't blame the media, they just report what they see, and they often don't have all the details.
BTW, I neither support nor oppose the police, or the media, I am just calling it like it is.

Hello: This means how you want your meat cooked as in hamburgers or steaks. Rare is when it isn't even cooked and there is blood coming out of it,sorry but this is the truth, medium rare is when it is cooked a little but not much, medium is cooked a little more but you can still see the pink color inside of the meat, medium well is when it is cooked all the way through and there is no pink meat, well done is when it is cooked so throughly, that it is almost a charcoal color and consistency!

Media shows what "they" want you to see, and most often it is in line with their agenda.
