First he had it in his thigh, but now it has spread to his knee. He can't even WALK. Serious pain. :( We went to a regular doctor, but what specialist should we go to? We were thinking of going to a neuro surgeon. Please suggest which specialist AND how we can help him at home. THANK YOU sooooooooo much!

This might be sciatica. Your physician should be referring him to a specialist. You shouldn't have to be figuring this out for yourself. See another doctor!

Hope that helps!

Ibuprofen for joint pain, it helps as an anti-inflamatory, aspirin if its a circulatory problem, it will thin the blood allowing easier circulation. You may want to consider a PM&R doc. Stands for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

well i can't help really with the specialist but, at home you can give him a massage and asprin. also you should give him cushion soles to form to his feet because they will help with his back and legs. or you could have a back specialist pull lightly adding pressure at his leg (my dad had that done)

The Internist you went to should be the one to point you in the direction of which specialist you need to see. What did they say to him?
