You can start a family whenever you want. The later you start the better your life insurance should be.

My husband did the very same thing and I must say good for you to a point. My husband was 53 when we married and I was 24. You might think of a huge generation gap but that is the further-est thing from the truth. I like the music from the 50's and 60's and love the style even more. We have the same family values and outlook on life. Yes I was just born late. Shortly after we married we were expecting our son. It helps that I had a past and a previous marriage. Do yourself a favor though and don't worry too much about the money part. You can have a nice family and lovely wife without being rich. If you have someone you love and are in love with you should go for it. Waiting too long could cost you allot more than money. The best answer I could give to anyone is when you are ready you are ready. It is much more than an age thing. Do what your heart says and try to use common sense along the way.

I'm 46 and have a daughter 6 and Son 10 and I just got you had the early heart attact alert from my doctor. Makes you think about the reality of your age and in my case getting to know my grandkids will probably never be an option for me. Hopefully I'll see mine out of the house. You choose money over a family a long time ago. Now maybe you should limit yourself to age appropriate women that already have children. Otherwise you are just a selfish fool. Once you reach social security age (no matter how much money you have) you shouldn't have kids still living at home.

No one can answer that question but you. Each person may set different priority in his life. The question about starting a family in not when, It's why or why not.
You are putting your priority of making your fortune first and assuming you will have time to start a family later.
At what point if ever, will you feel starting a family is important to you? Only you have the answer.

My husband's friend is about 46, 47, has an 11 month old, [only child] the guy is in great shape now I hope he stays that way--like 12 yrs. from now. Personally I think he will.
Sure he has lots of $, & he finally has the son he always wanted--we don't hear from him anymore--lol--he's so wrapped up in that little guy, so yes--I guess by 46, it's still young enough. However, one baby, not two. I'm a woman and trust me, one is fine, but for some reason 2 seems like 4. Do not fall for a girl still in her 20's it'll be about the $ for her.

I think you should consider finding that special someone soon. If this is something you want then get it started do you really want to have a rugrat running under your feet when your
older then say 50?. It sounds to me that you have chosen to put money first and foremost in your life so maybe family life is not for you?. Alot of guys live life single and have flings but usually parenting ends for most guys around 50-60 unless they are a celebrity and end up marrying a woman half there age?. Like Donald Trump for instance.

My husband will be 62 in May and is the proud new father of a 4 month old baby girl. Celebrities do it all the time, why not us "common" folk?

The only thing you should make sure of, and consider, is the fact that the older you get, the more deformed your sperm are going to get. You might want to consider "banking" a sample or two for your own use in the future, should the need arise.

Just saw a news story on this same topic the other night....lol.

Good luck to you.

Better hurry, that 'future' teenage son will see a 60-yr old man trying to be athletic... You aren't in a family because you're one (or both) of two things. You're self-centered and/or you're indecisive, the latter meaning you feel there's something better around the corner, than what's in front of you (and easily critcized). If you haven't made "your fortune" by 42, you won't have one -- and are simply living to your best means. (Meaning, if you earn 100k you will buy an 80k sportscar and rent/buy high, etc. etc.). Consider yourself fortunate if you still 'pull the young chicks', but don't kid yourself (they know you're older). If you're lucky.. you'll find a desperate MILF or something, that will accept your lifelong hard-luck story with women or that no one 'understands you' etc. etc. -- so, they can have someone provide for them & their kid(s). Good luck!

I think it depends more on who your with and what they want. If you are with a woman in her 40's it's not very safe for her to have a child. The best time for a woman to have a baby is 25-35. I think that if you want to keep your options open, make sure that the woman knows that you may want one and see what she says.

Many of us are considering starting a second family at that age, and paying child and spousal support to the first family.

If you are too worried about your monetary fortune, then a family is not for you.
