Your question is based on a premise, (God gets to decide what is right or wrong), & that premise is compounded by the concept that God has a "moral code." Thus, how can your details be answered? I've found the history of religions to be a wonderfully rich tapestry--but one thing that all have in common, is the assumption that "their" god sets the moral compass, the bad or good, even though within a specific religion, there are contradictions. I believe the issue of fair or unfair depends on the individual's choice of open-mindedness or bigotry. God isn't "pissed" by gays; perhaps there's something in a book or books, interpereted to be a "sin" about being gay. Look at this way, (from a religious point of view): What would be the greater sin, to be NOT a great person, but a gay--or to be gay & a good person? Or is just being gay a sin? Does this all seem a bit of nonsense to you? Logically?

Because God Is The Only One That Is Always Right!
God does not condemn anyone. The Law of God is plain, we are the ones that bring condemnation on ourselves. Life and death is our choice, as it was Adam and Eve's, that has not changed. We can choose the way of life or the way that leads away from life.
Jesus said I did not come to condemn the world, but that the world through Me might be saved.
God does not condemn a person for being gay, He has already condemed the sin. The sin of breaking the Law of God is what condemns. Just as His Law has condemned murder, adultry etc. Any sexual act out side of marrige between a man and a woman goes against the law of creation (Gods Law). Thats just the way it is, we can accept it or not. Its pretty easy to establish what goes agianst the simple laws of procreation. By simple observation.
As for as God agreeing with what the church says, I can tell you this, God is not trying to agree or disagree with what the church says, that is not the plan. The plan is to agree with God's plan and Word. The manual is in print and if asked He loves to confirm His Word to people, when asked. Fact is...Hey He has spoke plainly and clearly, even His law is in the mind of every single person. He gave us all a conscience. If I as a believer in Christ have to be taught not to steal, I've got a problem. As long as the old fashioned sin problem is hidden there can be no cleansing.
A great and amazing fact is...after the death and resurrection of Christ the word forgeness in the Epistles takes on a new meaning. Because as John the Baptist said...there is the Lamb of God...Who takes away the sin of the world!
So will everyone recieve that forgiveness by accepting the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world? Sadly no. Many would be bound by pride and in bondage to them selves which is in direct opposition to the truth of God. If a person thinks they are a god unto themselves why would they want to be cleansed from all unrighteousness? Self righteousness is a strong enemy of bondage...I can be a witness to that.
That is exactly what we are told to do in 1st John...confess our sins before we can be cleansed. I need the Blood and Life supply of Christ...no matter how hard I try I still have to be cleansed am not quite complete yet.
But I am off the launching pad.
And I can testify, man it is a wonderful and gracious thing to not have to feel guilty. To be free from me is exciting. I died with Christ, I no longer live, and the life that I now live is by faith in the Son Of God.
Thank You Jesus, Yeshua, Mesiah

As far as im corcern,
we all make the decisions & the morality that our civilization is based upon. Some may even claim that God is one of our earliest wise ancestors' creation, like rules & bylaws, code of conducts... some superstitious, some factual, some were erradicated, some persisted...
God or should i say, our belief of a Creator(the all knowing) is the most persevering of all. What can we do? if we can't explain something we point at him, when something incredible happens we thank him & when something awful goes wrong, we blame him.
because we can never explain everyything...
because we're too lost to think that we can do impossible feats..
& whenever we start blaming each other- we get prejudice,
discrimination & years, decades & centuries of War.
so it's so much better to think that GOD really decides what's wrong or right, & we're free to do whatever we want.
kinda cowardly right?

Every sin falls into at least one of the original Ten Commandments. The more you indulge in any sin, the harder it will be to stop, that's why He sent us a Redeemer. What I'm saying is that any sin that consumes you so much that you ignore God, including denying Him, will receive condemnation. Remember, in the end, we need Him, He doesn't need us!

God is not real. AND if he was - he can kiss my behind! If god was a person, walked around hating gays - drowning people etc - no one would like him. So why should you like him because he's bigger and "more powerful"
God does not let people who don't believe in him into heaven. So i could give to every charity be a great person, and not believe in god, according to people - i'd still go to hell.
Thanks, but i aint worshiping someone like that!

I do not believe in God because of what you have just stated - there is no almighty fairy-tale-like creature with unlimited judgement and knowledge that decides in raw absolutes - 'hell' or 'heaven'.
I believe Christianity is totally misinterpreting what they tried to set up - a code that would teach human to behave morally and co-exist in harmony with its surroundings..

wow... LOL
Following any belief system such as religion.... The entity which designs it controls every aspect of it and dictates what's "right" or "wrong"..
If / when you become a god then you'll get to control it and dictate whatever in the manner you see fit, for your own reasons.

Im not a very religious person, but i would have to say that as long as you live your life as a good person, something like "being gay" isnt going to condemn you to hell. Im sure that there are people out there that will disagree with me. but that is my opinion and belief.

Hypothetical questions have no answers, Just hypothetical mental masturbation. If you made a pot of clay, who decides its shape? Who decides it color? If you are going to eat steak for supper, did the steer have a say in what kind of steak? God sees all of his creation as Good. Human minds are all that see otherwise.

It certainly is fair for God to comdemn him.
God doesn't arbitrarily decide what is right and wrong; God is the ultimate standard of right and wrong. God also creates people with the knowledge of right and wrong, giving them no excuse. You cannot blame God, because it is man's fault for doing evil.
