All of Iran's policies are in one form or another of a Theocracy

Can't answer much of that, but I did look into thier political system, once (it was before 9/11, even). They're a constitutional Theocracy. They have an elected legislature and president, much like the US, and constitutional limitations on thier power. They also have a religious 'Gaurdian Council' that acts as a check on the legislature, somewhat analogous to the Supreme Court, though able to act more pro-actively. And, above all that, a supreme authority is vested in a religious leader, originally Khomeni, who is, in turn, answerable to God Himself.

Except for the Theocratic aspects, it's really a pretty reasonably-constituted system.
