I am pregnant and have a bad cold at the moment, and I literally have not stopped sneezing for the last 2 and a half hours. Each sneezing fit includes anywhere for 4-8 massive sneezes in a row, and I am starting to feel like it's affecting my muscles down near my uterus. It's making me really scared to sneeze, but by the same token, I can't stop and there's nothing I can do about it. DOes anyone know if I could potentially be doing any harm to my baby?

A sneeze will not harm your baby because you only stop breathing for a few seconds. It can certainly start making you feel pretty sore, though.

Maybe you could ask your doctor for a pregnancy-safe antihistimine to control this annoying symptoms.

My sympathies to you.....I've got an awful cold with sneezing too!

When I was around 4 or 5 weeks pregnant I was sick in bed with a BAD cold, I did sneezed a lot too but I managed to go through it without taking any medications for it because I hate the FACT of taking medicines while I am pregnant even though the DR. tells me it is safe for me and the baby. Or Maybe you're becoming allergic to something. Some pregnant women develop allergies during pregnancy. I know I did, I got red itchy swollen skin. But sneezing won't harm your baby..so there's nothing to worry about.

I doubt very much that your baby will be harmed by the sneezing. With my last pregnancy there i was extremely giggly lol. There was times where i just couldnt stop laughing for a good half hour at a time and my tummy hurt sooo much. It did worry me, but i truly couldnt help it and now i have a perfectly healthy baby boy ( also a little giggler). Remember too that your immune system is too busy looking after your little one and forgets all about you while baby is there, which is why this is happening in the first place. If you are still worried about it, check it out with your doctor. Good luck

Hi, I am pregnant too and I kept sneezing and some times it did really pull on my stomache which was painful. I had to see my doc any way and he confirmed I had hayfever......iv never suffered from hayfever, blooming typical now im pregnant , you cant take anything for it!! My doc confirmed it by looking in my ears and seeing that my eardrums were enlarged.

Ps dont hold your sneezes as some times thats worse x

try eating a small spoon full of the local honey in a drink or how you can take it , this helps people with hay fever and maybe you are getting hay fever allergies you do not normally suffer give it a try, good luck with the baby
