Secondly...I DID serve in the military...1998-2004...sorry my orders to change branches and go to Iraq didn't go through...

Didn't realize how easy it was to jump out of the Navy and into the Army.

HELL NO...they should have been rounded up and thrown in jail....THAT WAS A THREAT!!!!!!!!!

It seems that many can't get past the point that illegals within this country is NOT limited to just Mexicans.......

I knew about the protests. Have a friend that lives in England. MANY of those in England were not pleased with it at all - the fact that it had nothing to do with England at all seemed to be missed by those protesting........ That no arrests were made - I believe a mistake on the part of that country - but not for me to make such a call.

I see what you are saying - that unless we wakeup within America, similar could happen here with any number of groups that are illegally within this country. Considering that there was marching on May 1st by people that support the breaking of known laws - that there should be no punishment for them - that all should just be given to them - - while we hold those that come into this country legally to a totally different standard. Such an approach is most def. going to cause problems - more than possible similar to the type that the article showed - from perspectives that come from a group of people that are within America illegally. Such could happen. Such needs to be addressed before it ever gets there.

Keeping our collective heads under the sand isn't an approach that should be taken. I would hope that we as a nation can learn not only from our own past mistakes - but the mistakes that other countries have made as well.

I remember those protests. They were in response to a political cartoonist "insulting" Islam. Stupid reason but we all do stupid things for stupid reasons. However, the war in Iraq was not about terrorists. There was never a link to Al-Qaida. The terrorists came after we took over. There were never any WMD's, the intelligence on that one was so bad that even the U.N. could see it for what it was.

As for immigration, what does that have to do with anything. Muslims in Britain protest a British cartoonist and suddenly immigration is bad? I agree that illegal immigration is bad. We are in a huge country, however, and the terrorists have virtually unlimited resources (thanks to middle eastern oil and drugs, and African diamonds) and there is no way we could stop a determined conspirator from entering the country, assuming a fake identity, and doing whatever it is he is here to do. Stopping all immigration will simply stagnate the country.

These people where immigrants to England, but their purpose was not to be a part of the English culture. Their purpose is to destroy it and convert it to Islam. Europe is learning a valuable lesson. America will not learn. We will follow in their foot steps. I believe in legal immigration and that it should have restrictions for a reason. If their country was so great then they would not need to come to America. So when they get here they should not try to change American culture to that from their home country. It wasn't working there and it will destroy America if it takes over here. (but perhaps that is the real hope).

You're mixing things.

Which war are you referring to? Most people were in support of going into Afghanistan - it was justified and necessary. Many people are against the Iraq war as it was done under faulty intelligence, executed pooly and no real definition of what winning is. The war in Iraq is not about protect us.

Pro-immigration is not pro ILLEGAL immigration. Why don't people get this concept-- both sides. The US will always have immigration. We want the legal kind, not the illegal kind.

So, let's see are you anti-american? Are you advocating elminating free-speech from the constitution. Muslims in this country have not demonstrated like the people you note. And they would be well within their rights to do so-- just like the KKK, immigrant protests, etc. and other unsavory groups. I don't like what they have to say nor agree with it. But I fully support their right to say it. Besides, you really want these wackos out in the open so that people see them for what they are.

Just what is it do you think that our soldiers protect us from? They're protecting our freedoms and way of life == that includes the right to protest whatever we darn well please. That's what the military is there for to protect us-- they're not being used for that now (at least not in Iraq)

That said, we also have to aware of legal free-speech vs. that which is illegal-- e.g. advocating overthrow of the gov. is not legal.

And one more thing- IF you were truely in the military, you should revisit your oath. I'm quite sure it had something in there relating to protecting the constitution.

Wow...just because I don't want to send young Americans to their unjustified deaths doesn't mean I don't believe we need to protect ourselves.

And I would have to say, YES...I do want to see that on American soil. You know why? Because our fabulous Constitution provides us ALL with the right to freedom of religion, and the right to free speech. I may not agree with what they have to say, but I most definitely agree that they have the right to say it, if they believe it.

Perhaps you're just worried because you're one of those people who feels the need to insult those whose beliefs don't match yours? I'm perfectly fine living next door to Muslims, and have no need to insult their faith, as I would expect them to not insult mine. That said, I'm not worried about them beheading me. Mutual respect goes a long way, really!

If you're not prepared to support the basics of the Constitution, you really should move somewhere else.

=======================================

No, I don't need to go anywhere...I'm the one of us here who actually has a grasp about the concepts our country was founded on. Again, yes, I want for all of us here to enjoy our civil rights. I don't want them to terrorize anyone, but exercising their civil rights is the tiniest little thing you can just let someone do...If you (and others) would simply stop acting the way you are acting, then they would have no reason to think about terrorist acts. Don't you get that you're as much a part of the problem as you are a part of the solution?

Seriously...here's a link to the Constitution. You should read up.

The point, which maybe you still don't get, is that the war in Iraq does NOT protect us.

It's hilarious that we live in a country founded on immigration and conservatives can't tell the difference between an immigrant and a terrorist.
