I am 37 w 2 d preggo...

I have been leaking some kind of fluid (discharge, maybe urine??) for 3 days now. It isn't just a little... it always leaks through my underpants onto my pants. Doc had my go to the hospital just to be on the safe side although that wasn't what we thought it was and sure enough... it was NOT amniotic fluid. It's a little embarrassing to think that I might be leaking urine and not knowing it, but I don't think it's discharge because it's so thin... Has anyone else had this happen to them? Just let me know that I am not alone please!!

Oh yes I was 37 1/2 weeks pregnant and I went to the hospital thinking my water broke and I was peeing my paints. I was so embarresed the nurse said its common because the baby was pressing down on your bladder. They told me to wait untll the contractions were 15 min apart to come to the hospital. We'll at 38 weeks and 6 days I was doing the dishes at my parents house and I felt a trickle down my leg and at first I thought here we go again but something felt diff this time. My brother looked at me and said " Whats Wrong?" I said "I think My water broke" , and he said "What". It was funny. I waited to see if I would start contractions and to start timing them. I kept changing my underware because I kept leaking slowly. My husband said they said Wait untill contractions. I didnt have any and I thought I was peeing myself agin but this time the fluid just kept coming. I cooked dinner and I waited 7 hrs to go get checked and sure enough my water had broken. I was only dialated 2 cm and they had to help me along by giving me potocin and 30 min after that I had full blown contractions and went through 18 hrs of labor. I ended up staying 2 days because the nurse said that I waited so long after my water breaking that Me and the baby had to be checked for infection. They ddint tell me that when they said to wait for contractions. It would have been nice if they would have said some women dont start contractions immediatly after water breaking. A lot of women pee there paints. I did and were not going to be the last.

Well I'm at 37 1/2 weeks, and I know my discharge has increased quite a bit. If yours was urine, you would be able to smell it. Or it could be a combination of the two. As long as they're sure it's not amniotic fluid, then you have nothing to worry about, although I'm sure it's not pleasant!! Have you tried using those little pantyliners? I use carefree brand, and I use them constantly through my whole pregnancy. That way you are not leaking through your panties and pants, you can just change the pad. If it's urine, perhaps you could try regular pads, those would be more absorbant. Either way, you don't have much longer and hopefully this won't be a problem after birth. Good luck!!!

Since it's not amniotic fluid and not dishcharge, then yes it's urine and it's typical. I have it happen at the end of my pregnancies too. What I do is I wear a pantyliner and change it a couple times a day. It helps to prevent your pants from getting wet. Yes it is really embarrassing but it happens and there isn't much we can do about it when the baby is pushing on our bladders. I'm not looking forward to it happening again with this pregnancy, but I've got a nice stock of pantyliners ready to go for when I get into my third trimester and it starts to happen. That's my reccomendation for you to try so you're not too embarrassed and your pants stay dry. Good luck and congrats on upcoming baby!

Hey! I am 36 weeks pregnant, and for about 2 weeks now I have had the exact same symptoms! My doctor had me go to my hospital and they checked, and said that is was not amniotic fluid. My doctor even came in and gave me an exam. She told me that it was just normal discharge! I couldn't believe it when she told me, but she said sometimes it can be thin....causing to look like you are "peeing your pants". Although it can also be some urine, because your baby is probably now very low! I have had to wear panty liners for weeks now!!!!

So you are not the only one out there!! I know what you are suffering through...only advice I can give is panty liners! Just think, you are almost done!!

Good Luck and Congrats on the baby coming soon!!

It sucks but it is probebly urine. This has been happening to me since about 30 weeks. My baby sits low and kicks me in the bladder all day. And my doctor said after the baby drops the leaking could get worse :(
I bought some thin panty liners that I wear daily and it has helped

My best friend leaked like that and it was urine, the docs brought her in and checked and told her what it was. Just keep using pads and checking the toilet...if you lose your plug in the next couple of days call your doctor and get back in to see them. Do you have a list of labor warning signs on your fridge? You should have a list of true labor and fake labor signs on your fridge so if you start having any issues you know what to look for. Hopefully, if the doc says all is well, all is well. They know what they're doing...and no need to be embarassed...you lose all sense of modesty when you're pregnant...you kinda have to! Congrats and best wishes!

That's wierd. Were they sure that it wasn't amniotic fluid? Did they run tests? I've never heard of not being able to control your bladder at all. I've heard and have gone through sneezing and leaking a little but never it just coming out. I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you. Just use pads to prtect yourself from being embarrassed I guess.

IT could be amniotic fluid- make your doc do an ultrasound to make sure your baby has enough fluid in there! I leaked similarly and had to drink lots of fluids and be on bedrest due to this...almost had to be induced a bit early due to this! Same thing happened to two of my friends- both of whom ran out and it was very dangerous to the babies. Make sure the doctor takes you seriously.

I had this happen to me also and I was checked and was told it was urine but it kept happening and I know that this could not be controlled so I went back in and got tested and it was fluid. I had to be put in the hospital for 3 weeks bedrest until my baby was born. Please go have it checked again if it keeps happening.

It's pretty normal to leak urine, esp. late in pregnancy. It happened to me a lot especially when I would cough or laugh or sneeze. lol

A lot of women have this problem in pregnancy. And when baby grows it pushes more and more on your bladder.

You might wear some pads for it. I did and it helped keep me dry. The pads also came in handy for the day when my water actually DID start trickling out.
