I think it's really unique. A different feel from the usual Dakota, Austin buzz for place names. Go for it. But assuming you have a mid to long last night, go for a shorter middle name. Tennessee Jordan, Tennessee Caleb, Tennessee Adam.

I like it. It can have a number of cute nicknames. I feel like you should go with your heart. I named my son Indiana, and although older people go "Indiana??" and kind of show their dislike of it, most people have been very positive about it. Their reaction is neither here nor there for us, I was just reporting what has happened. If you love a name, you should use it. Just be prepared to say it twice when people go "what?"!
Let me also add that people say your child will get picked on... I don't beleive that a child gets picked on for a name alone. if a child has no confidence, personality and umph to him, and a different name, then I can see him getting picked on. But if you instill confidence and normal self-esteem in a kid, a different name will make them cool. They won't be the prey. I am a teacher and I see it everyday. The weaker kids get picked on for any reason under the sun, and if there is nothing to make fun of, other kids will make something up. The stronger kids don't, no matter what weird stuff fthey have going on. So a name is just a name. Name your kid a normal name and the other kids will just find something else to say, that's all.

Sorry I don't think I like it for a first name but maybe a middle name. Also what is your last name you have to take into consideration that Tennessee is a long name and if you have a long last name to that gets hard for kids to do. I know my last name is Dorumsgaard. Luckly, my parents opted for a short first name so I wouldn't struggle learning how to write my name.

Don't like Tennessee as a name, but consider a character from one of TW's works?
I'm named after the wife of the detective of my moms favorite criminal novels.

The playwright's real name was Thomas Lanier Williams. Why not use that? Tennessee is going to be a burden on your son for life.

I think it's an awesome name for a boy. Very strong, yet romantic, because of the connotation with Williams. I don't think the kid will get picked on, it's a nice name,

I think that Tennessee would make a perfectly acceptable (and cute) middle name for your child, especially based on your reasoning.

As a middle name sounds fine. Give him a first name that fits with the middle and last name, sounds good together.
