I'm doing a charity event in a few months time for which we need to paint a car and then get people to sign it. What can we use to make the signatures permanent on the car's body? Will a normal permanent marker do the trick, or will wear/rain/wind etc wear the sig off over time? Is there some form of varnish we could put on them to seal them on? Any suggestions welcome.

the two first answers are Okay but,

You need to use Paint Roller Pen.
is like the marker, but instead ink, there is paint for real.(auto paint store or body shop)

You CAN'T use the marker ,the clear paint coat will turned into a blurry black spot (or whatever color the marker was)

Hold off on the clear coat until it's signed would be my guess.

Sign and then clear over it or use a pinstriping brush and paint to sign with.

Both will work great.
