The lights went out, and all the computers turned off at the lab here at school...I was doing a research and I didnt have it saved....is their a way to get it back? I know their was a way....but maybe not? anyone know...I was doing it on Microsoft word!!

wow that's weird. that very thing happened here at the library 10 minutes ago and there is no storm anywhere near this place.

click on start button > search > search in
c:\windows\temp\temporary internet files
for files with a .doc file extension

do it this way with an asterisk (*) in front of the period. that is called a wildcard. the asterisk tells the computer to search all files with a .doc extension.

*.doc

in your computer's help files search for wildcards to see what others exist. these are very handy to have when searching your hard drive.

Hi Generally work in progress is stored in RAM and will be lost, but MS Word MAY do a periodic save. If so just open the document. I hate it when that happens.

Don't know what kind of network your school has but you might ask the teacher if it could be on the server somewhere, maybe.
