PST is Pacific Standard Time which is the time when we turn our clocks back one hour.

PDT is Pacific Daylight (Savings) Time when we turn our clocks forward one hour.

Every timezone has a Standard Time and Daylight Time but it's not recognized in every region of the country.

Standard time is regular time. Daylight time is when the clocks are moved an hour forward.

We are currently on Daylight time and will turn our clocks back to Standard time in the fall (Spring forward, Fall back).

It's called Daylight time because moving the clock forward an hour causes daylight to come an hour earlier.

Daylight saving time is one hour ahead of standard time in the spring, and falls back one hour of standard time in the fall.
