Juventus was a 1-0 defeat so it wasn't them.

Wimbledon rings a bell. I don't know the answer myself so if anyone can check out the Wimbledon thing.

Yes, you are right it was Wimbledon. I remember it well it was on 14th December 1993, a League Cup 4th Round Replay. The score was 2-2 when John Barnes missed a penalty in extra time that would have won it for Liverpool. It went to a penalty shoot-out and although 'Razor' Ruddock, Barnesy, and Robbie Fowler scored, Jamie Rednapp and Mark Walters both missed. Wimbledon's John Fashanu, Dean Holdsworth, Brian McAllister and Neal Ardley all scored, only Vinnie Jones missed so Wimbledon won the game 4-3 on penalties.
Luckily since then we seem to have developed a handy knack of pulling it off on the big occasion. C'mon you Reds !!!!

They are human, and they have been statistically lucky up until now. Besides, how many of those 10 shootouts were against a top-notch team in a must win situation? It's a whole other ball game. It really is not all that amazing that they lost. It is more amazing that they won 10 straight in the first place. That's luck.
