Sure! any PC can be upgraded.
It is to the extent of upgradability your machine is capable of thats the question.
e-Machines are made by HP. HP puts alot of trial software on their PC's to reduce cost to the consumer. I would poke around and try to uninstall the unessesary software that is probably slowing you down.

You need RAM (Random Access Memory) go to crucial.com and also try tomshardware.com. Type eMachines upgrades in any search engine. Have your machines model number handy. You have to upgrade the memory if it is slow.

Emachines are notoriously propietary which means they only like parts you get from Emachines. So they are upgradeable but it can very well be difficult to do.
