Go to your computer manufacturer's website and download the sound card driver.

There are 2 things you can try;

Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore, and restore your computer to an earlier time (like 1 or 2 days ago).

If you don't want that try this:
Right click "my computer"
select "properties"
click the "hardware" tab and click on the 'device manager" button.

Then you will see a menu - check if you see Sound, Video and Game controllers, if there is a yellow mark with a ! in it, it means you screwed it up, delete it and click on the refresh button (on the top). also called "Scan for hardware changes"

I recommend using the first idea
Good Luck.

Check this two things:
1.Go to Start menu>Control Panel>Sound and Audio Devices, and check on Hardware is everything right and doesn't have troubleshooting. Also check outputs on Audio.
2.Right-click on My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>Sound, Video and Game Controllers, and check there for troubleshooting, and check Update Driver button.
One more thing: Download some Benchmark, and see what it tells about audio system.
