Lui forgot at least one thing the Bible also mentions:

A man shall not shave his beard. It doesn't say more than once a day, month, year - it says that a man shall NOT shave his beard.

Therefore, if we were to take the bible litterally, I'm guessing more than 90% of all men everywhere in the world would be sinners and not even realize they'd sinned.

The point is that being gay is never mentioned in the bible as a sin. Lui has a number of very good points. Including the comment on Soddam and Gamorah. Technically, it had nothing to do with the way the villagers wanted to handle the visiting angels, it was simply that there weren't 8 good people left in the village.

I, too, am glad you're asking about this. You may end up with a LOT more information than those around you and congratulations on that.

You can't try to be bi, you either are or aren't. We don't get a choice of this magnitude in life, it doesn't work that way, and it's offensive if you think it's so simple.

As for the bible, read it before you comment on it. It's very vague. Soddom fell because there were not 8 good people in the town, not because the townspeople were gay. "Thou shall not lie with man as thou does with woman" also makes no sense for me, I've never laid with woman, also men back then would not be laying with anyone until marriage, so to me this sounds like someone saying "don't cheat on your wife with a man." Also the bible only ever refers to gay sex, they had no concept of gay love and relationships, it just didn't exist in the time the bible was written in that area of the world.

Also, Jesus never ever mentions gay people.

Oh and if you want to be homophobic because of the bible, well you better go and talk down about premarital sex, cheating when married, and divorce, all of those are also sinful, in fact adultery is one of the commandments. Also you have to not eat pork, as that is against the bible, so is wearing clothes of 2 different fabrics.

The bible is a huge book, I can justify ANYTHING using it. There's a bigger message there though.

Also I assume you're Christian, in which case you should be full of love and acceptance for your fellow man, regardless of his ways, or his sins.

Samuel, you have to learn that religion is not the final word about anything in this world. You are only a jumior in high school but you have to keep your mind open to what is going on around you.

Gayism - there is no such word.

It is becoming more and more evident (and suported by medical science)that being gay, bi, straight is determined by genetics not by choice - in short people are born the way they are.

The only choice a person has is how they act upon the feelings they may have because of what genetics has given them.

You mention you were goining to try to be bi. That means you have sexual feelings for both guys and girls. If that is how your true feelings go you should not try to supress them. You can wind up with severe depression.

Of course I am not saying you should go wild and have sex with "everything that moves". Learn to understand your feelings and how you can control them - they should not control you.

First, gayism is not a word.

Second, what was the question? Why is there sin in this world? If you believe in God and the Bible and yadda yadda then you know thats how it works. We sin. We get forgiven.

Third, shouldnt you be worrying about what youll be wearing this weekend instead of worrying about everyone else's sexuality? Honey, please, worry about everything on your own plate first before you take on the world. Youll be soooo much happier.

the people who preach the bible to you have mis-interpreted the bible. and the translations have gone askew even more lately.

god created all mankind, men and women, straight and gay so why would he hate his own creation if he is perfect. your preachers done tell you that though. god hates no one so mankind has made the bible translate into what they want it to say.

your in high school so your still learning. try researching this on your own and dont listen to those from your church.

Below is a link to a study of the bible regarding homosexuality and what the bible does, and does not say, about homosexuality.

I think it is great that you are exploring other people's perspectives, as well as your own.

I'm an atheist. There is no such thing as sin. It is a made up concept to control people's behavior.

if you wanted to try it, then try it. just because the bible say's its wrong does'nt mean it is. times have changed now, the world has changed now, people are changing. i belive sin to mean lack of understanding because thats all it is.

Bible is not the only religious authority to be dictating what's right or what's wrong.
