I got the DEPO shot around mid December and I still havent gotten my period.....?

I had some dark spotting last week, kinda normal, but not a real period yet!! When will it be back?

I got it once and never again. Im not ON it now, I did it on December and that was it.

That just depends on you. It's different for everyone but it does usually take a while for it to come back. I've known girls that didn't have periods for months, and two that didn't have a period for at least a year after having the shot. Don't worry about it, you're fine. Be greatful that you don't have to deal with it for now.

Thats what the DEPO shot does. It makes your body think that its pregnant. You will start your period back after your off of the depo shot for awhile. Some women think that not having a period is great & that is why they take the shot.

Some women don't while Depo. My daughter was on it for 4 years without a period. The doctor said that was normal for a lot of women.

That's normal. It may come back during depo, but most likely it won't come back until 6 months to a year after getting off of depo.

You're having the opposite of what I experienced. Depo messed me up so badly I bled for months at a time. My doctor put me on birth control pills to regulate my period, though it has been 5 days I'm on the pill there's already improvements. Go to your doctor and he'll put you on the right birth control pills to help you too. God bless.

my ob/gyn asked me if i wanted to get the depo shot, and when he did he said more then likely i would not have a period at all, as long as I was on the shot

I am a nursing school student. Usually you wont have a period while taking the shots.
