Is it really that important for everybody to fill their profile out? I mean I understand that it's nice and all but why should anybody really care whether or not everboidy has their profiles filled out?

I don't think it is important. In fact I think people here or anyplace online probably should be careful about their privacy, and I don't think I am obligated to tell anyone all my personal business about myself.
The only exception I think would be if you had some education or work experience that gives your advice some incredible weight. If you are a lawyer and you are giving legal advice, now that would be something I would like to know. Although it isn't obligatory at all, it would let me know you actually have some authority in the subject you are informing me about. But it isn't mandatory at all. It would just make me listen more to your advice. If you are a nurse and you tell me how to treat a wound, I would take it more seriously if I knew you were a nurse.
But I don't think it is anyone's beeswax to know all your personal info. In fact I think you shouldn't give too much of it out.

I don't care about others, but sometimes it's nice to get an idea about what the other person's like. It's like anything else--if someone does a particular thing, it tends to matter at least a little to that person.

voyeuristic curiosity, maybe?
Or maybe they just want to know a little about the person whose questions they're answering. Sometimes some information about the person helps you form or personalise the answer.

mine is filled out. why would i care if someone elses information was filled in? hell, do i even read other peoples things? NO!

why even bother with a 360 if you aren't going to fill out the profile, i certainly won't waste my time adding anyone with no info.

If they want to be on my contact list I have to know something about them.....and yes I know the profile could all be one big lie.
