Gay marriage is available in Massachussetts.
Civil unions that come with all the same rights as marriage are available in Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New Hampshire.
Domestic partner registries are availalble in a number of other states and localities, and offer some rights, but usually fall short of either marriage or civil unions.

Massachusetts does now, but only for state residence. This law is likely to be overturned by the voters in 2008, since the veto proof democrat majority legislative branch doesn't want to pass a bill allowing gay marriages.

Move to Canada, it's legal country-wide here. And it's same-sex marriage, not civil unions, with all the protections and rights of marriage, in fact they just changed the old wording to allow for same-sex marriage, instead of making new wording.

To add to Kent above, I believe that New Jersey allows civil unions, and New Hampshire signed it into law just this week as well
