There were two crew members aboard lifeboat #12 when it was lowered from the Titanic:

-- Able Seaman Frederick Clench
-- Able Seaman John Poingdestre (in command)

The boat left the Titanic with 43 people aboard (including the two crewmen); once the Titanic went down, boat 12 met up with Collapsible "D" and transferred most of its passengers. As a result, when the Carpathia picked up boat 12, it had 71 people aboard, including five crew members.

One of the passengers aboard boat #12 was an infant named Millvina Dean - one of two passengers who are still alive to this day.

Type :

titanic "lifeboat 12"

into Google and consult the 5 top hits.

Then read the "RMS Titanic" article on Wikipedia, especially the "Lifeboats" chapter.

Go to the library and ask for "The Riddle of the Titanic" (London: Orion 1995) by Robin Gardener & Dan van der Vat and go to page 136.

There are several websites dedicated to everything that happened on the Titanic and after it sank. Google it. Your best bet is probably www.encyclopedia-titanica.com (I'm pretty sure that's the the address. Google will have it!)
