I think you have to be atleast 17 to get an emancipation, and yes they're going to ask you questions as to why you don't want to live with them anymore. The policeman would probably just be someone to confide in, he might just tell you to go to guidance who will then be in contact with the Department of Social Services (DSS). If you are under 17 I'd make sure this is really what you want because once DSS is involved in your life they are hard to drive away. DSS determines whether or not your home is fit to live in and may consider placing you in foster care or a group home. This is no joke so make sure this is in fact what you want before taking any further action. Good Luck with Everything.

You can talk to him, but your best bet is to talk with a counselor at school. the problem is no matter what you do, it WILL make the problem at home worse. Nothing irritates an abusive parent more than having someone outside the house know whats going on in the home. You will almost certain get retaliation from them and they will try no matter what to prove the allegations you made are unfounded. its a very hard route you are thinking to take and my best friend went through that route and it was a year of absolute torture for her and I (since I was helping her, I was brought in on charges as well... yes they had both of us arrested for entering her own house to take her belongings out). definately let me know how everything goes.

Yes, do go to him - but he can't help you with an emancipation. You should absolutely tell him if your parents are abusing you. See if you can't have a friend's house lined up that you can stay at for a bit for after you tell him.
You can also tell a teacher, if there's one that you trust.

Yes you should speak to school authorities and the school's police liason officer. They can advice you. Always be truthful about the situation so that they can give you accurate information to make your decisions on and the decisions they need to make will be accurate also. Good luck to you and God Bless.

He doesn't have to be the one, but you will have to tell someone. In order for you to get emancipation you will have to "prove" that you are being abused. Good luck!

you have to get a lawyer and go to court
you will have to prove you have a job, and can support yourself, and that you have a place, (your own place), to live
you cannot get emancipated without that
you CAN go into foster care tho
another person here said something about you "living with a friend"-- it doesnt work that way, sorry

Talk to your conselour verses the resourse officer. be prepared that emacipation takes alot of work. And them being abusive doesnt consitute emacipation either.. it may lead to foster care til you are 18 if you arent able to support yourself according to the guidelines the state provides

if you are in the United States almost all states would require he investigate or at the very least report it and have it investigated. the same with any teacher, doctor etc. if there is any sign of abuse. if you are being abused then please go to him immediately or to your school guidance counselor.
