How can I become a professional driver?

I see on car commercials "professional driver on closed course" and I want to become a professional driver! How do I go about doing so?

Goto a professional driving school. Some last for about a week and cost several thousand, but you'll generally start with a cheap fast car like a mustang and gradually go up to a porsche 911, etc.

If you have enough money to afford a racing school, that would be a good start. It all depends on what you want to do exactly. If you were taking on something more simple like rallying (as opposed to F1), you could buy a cheap car that you wouldn't have to be afraid of crashing and you wouldn't need a team of mechanics to operate it. In the case of rallying, you just need to takes some basic racing courses at a racing school, buy a cheap 4WD car that resembles a world rallying car, find a track or private area to practice on and practice!!! Once you get use to the feel of the car and once you're established economically, you can spend more money on a better car and attempt to qualify at a racing open. Depending on how you do there, sponsors may give you a deal. If you're serious about this, I suggest a career related to cars such as maybe a mechanical engineer or even a car mechanic. This way you become more fimiliar with your car and you stay closer to the motorsport world. I wouldn't recommend that you focus entirely on racing at this point because you can fail. It's better to keep it as a hobby for now and once you're out of college you'll have the financial means to take it further. And even if you do fail at it, it's still a fun hobby.
