I have a lot of tattoos, but it doesn't bother me to cover them for an interview. Don't worry about it, pretty soon, all of the higher ups will be replaced with a new generation that has tattoos and they will be more widely accepted. Trust me, it will happen!

I personally LOVE tattoos. I have a couple, but I do believe that you should cover them up if you go to an interview. Some people can't see past them and won't give you a chance to show that you are a "normal" person and that you can work just as good if not better than a person that is not tattooed.

Because of the negative stigma of people who wear tattoos.
Having tattoos is still not the norm in this society. People who wear tattoos are still seen as criminals and misfits who do not belong in the workforce. People are closed minded and they will look at someone with a tattoo as someone who is in competent. So in order for someone to get hired or even be considered for a job especially a white collar one, a person's tattoo has to be covered.
Unfortunate but that's the society we live in.

I guess I've never been in that situation before but, I have come in contact with people that think that I'm less of a person because of mine. I've been told that tattoos make a person trashy. I don't think these people understand that it's our way of showing who we are. I've just recently come the the conclusion that if people don't like the way I look they can look the other way because this is who I am.

I have not run across a situation where my tat has caused an issue with at job, but I guess it could for some people. I think more and more people are getting them and they are becoming more acceptable. Mine is usually covered when I am wearing appropriate work attire, so I don't worry about it.

YES! Even though MANY people nowadays have tattoos, there are still those who unjustly stereotype. I am educated, a wife, a mother and by all means have a good life, however, some people still assume and judge me when they find out I have ink. It is crazy.

It's always been believed that people with tattoos are lower class - and not that it's accurate, but it's been hard to convince the corporate world otherwise.

I have a half dozen or so. Mostly military. I was a skilled workman and no one cared what I looked like. I could repair it and then keep it running with little or no downtime. Some jobs though, I bet it does affect employability.

I do not even have one tattoo and it bothers me. A tatto does not make a person a better or worse person at all.
