i have a 96 s-10 blazer and seem to have a slight leak from the bottom of the radiator. it finally steamed out alot of fluid the other day. i cant find the leak though. there are 2 points that stick out of the bottom, one on the left side and one on the right, that have a cross in the middle of them. they sit in a rubber washer so i guess they just support the radiator? the leak seems to come from the one on the left. anyone know about this? wheres the drain plug? and since the whole thing is plastic do i have to replace the whole thing? does anyone know where a diagram of the radiator is? thanks in advance.

I agree, sounds like the leak is in the tank seam, I would replace the radiator if it were me. Ive heard of people using JB weld and other types of 2 part epoxy systems with some luck but a radiator can have 10-20 lbs. of pressure on it, and the heating and cooling cycles on it might cause the repair to come off. I wouldnt trust it, unless it was an emergency.

You certainly sound like you are describing the mounting brackets for the radiator. Unfortunately, it also sounds like then the tank is leaking and you will be forced to replace the radiator. Have you checked to make sure that the rad hose isn't leaking? If it is close to this location, it may be a leaking clamp or worn hose. Follow the stain from the antifreeze. Good luck.

Check with a local radiator repair shop...many times they can replace just the side plastic tank rather than getting a whole new radiator and they will pressure test it for leaks. Any auto parts store should cary repair manuals for your vehicle from Chilton or Haynes...they run about 25.00 and will give detailed instructions and pictures of removing the radiator. Or try www.eautorepair.com for online access to repair manual....runs about 10.00.
Good luck, Paul
