Amy, think what you would be putting in the car for gas, for day care...figure those things out...it doesn't seem that it would be worth it...i used to work w/ a girl who, after she paid for gas and child care only brought home $50 a week of her paycheck...when I did the math for her, she quit.

I worked at a job that was 37 miles away for 11 years. It really got frustrasting to drive that far everyday. I made a little more than 6.50/hour. When I had my daughter, I quit. She is 2 now. It is well worth it to be able to stay at home with her. We trusted GOD to give us a child, and we trust Him to provide as well. He always supplies the needs of His children. (maybe not always our wants).
We clip coupons and buy just about everything generic. We cut our eating out and other "luxury" things like that. Just doing these "little" things has helped us make it.
I'd say if you can't make it, then look for a part-time job close to home. But I can tell you from experience that driving that far is way too draining on you and your vehicle.
I think at 6.50 and hour, it would cost too much for gas and child care. You probably would just about break even. (which defeats the purpose anyway)
Good luck and God Bless you!

Stay home and pray for God to give you guidance to enlighten you on what you are good at but 45 miles for 6.5 is crazy. Not worth it...you would spend money while you're working too. Clothes, snacks, believe me...your kids don't realize it now but you are not stressed out and when they return home from school all is well. I understand your family needs more money, but your husband is the man of the house and God will give him the money to manage his household. Pray more and "sweep your house for the last coin" and give it at the Alter of Jehovah Jireh and he will provide your every need.
Your responsibilities are the same wether you work or stay home...staying home you get to do them before the kids and husband come home AND you get every weekend to be with them.
Be content in all things...
smile...breathe...life is so good :)

*If you are desperate for the money, take the job and keep looking for a better one - some money is better than no money.
*If you can do without the money, keep looking.
*I believe in God an all that jazz, but YOU gotta do what YOU gotta do to support your family. No offense but leaving it up to God just doesn't sit well with me. I would truly hope that God is looking out for people that need him more than I do. Plus, I don't think God thinks that we should sit around relying on him to provide for us - I think he'd rather we do what we have to to provide for the life that we chose in the first place. God isn't here to serve us.

Keep looking or stay at home if you can afford to. That job wouldn't even cover gas/child care.

It wouldn't be worth it for the cost of gas.
But you are wise to trust in God to provide.

I wouldn't take ANY job that only pays $6.50 an hour, my going rate is $6.51 an hour.

No, the minimum wage is £5.35 here (about $10.70). It sounds like slave labour!!!
