Loosing ones memory can be related to diet, or stress. It can be age related, as with aged parents. Often times when a person is overly busy, his life just gets too cluttered, and he forgets to pay his electric bill.. or something like that.. Think about your life and the things that are going on. If your diet is not good, and you are not getting enough protien and vegetables, you need to make some changes, there.

You should take him to a doctor to get a diagnosis but to me it sounds like Alzheimers.Losing any memories whether good or bad is not a very healthy thing.Your memories and experiences in your life is what makes you a person and not just another human.

"weep not for past, fear not for future"
its better to not to lose memory however bad it is... nothing goes waste you can always keep on learning but you should have a will for it... and anyone can build that will.
he should try keeping his memory good... by practising like by playing games like sudoku or scrable or chess or anythin else that requires mind and practising for remembering everything.
losing a memory wont help anyone getting out of bad past you can always learn from bad and good and move on...
all the best.
