Here are some other ways to whiten nails:

1) Dissolve 1-2 denture cleaning tablets in a bowl of water & soak her nails in them.

2) Swipe the nails w/ a cotton pad soaked in hydrogen peroxide. Let sit for 2-5 minutes & rinse w/ cool water.

3) There are special tablets at the beauty supply store for soaking nails.

4) Use tooth whitening strips. Cut & apply a strip to each nail. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Remove & rinse w/ cool water.

5) Buff them. Here's a how to video: http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-file-and-buff-your-nails

6) If all else fails, use a sheer pink polish over a base coat to disguise the discoloration. Sugar Daddy by Essie is a good one.

It may have something to do with her diet and it could be at that age, nothing will change it. Just keep attractive nail polish on the nails to cover up the base color. What a thoughtful daughter-in-law you are

Have her see a doctor and take multi-vitamins.

Yellowing nails are early signals of various internal disorders, such as diabetes, respiratory or liver problems. White lines in or across the nail can signal fever, liver or heart disease, kidney disorders or, more likely, a lack of iron or zinc in your diet.

OK,this one I had to think about but I have an answer.Take your Mother-in-law (if you have the money) to a place where she can get a manicure and tell the people that work there about the problem.Good luck.

What happens on the outside of your body is a sign of what's happening on the INSIDE of your body. She is probably toxic inside. I suggest doing a cleanse! Research cleanses online & try to find one that speaks specifically about yellow nails.
