Well, it's a bit rare occurrence though But yes, it does sound a bit funny..lol... and I think maybe because it sounds a bit too formal whereas in our daily life we get somehow more accustomed to short names that our known people usually used so I guess this maybe one of the reason why we feel so strange :)

Heh, the only time a full name is ever used is when something bad's about to happen. For instance, when the judge is reading a verdict.

"We, the jury, find the defendant James William Smith, guilty of first degree murder. Castrate that *****."

LMAO :)....i know when i would hear my full name spoken by mom that something bad was about to happen...and the funny thing is that i do it to my kids now..and they have picked up that sense of knowledge to go run and hide...lol...i never really thought about it.,..but it is true..

Yes, my Sociology professor called my entire name one time and I was pretty spaced out and I said "WHAT?!" with kind of an attitude and she, along with the rest of the class, just stared at me. All I could say was "Sorry... I thought I did something wrong."

It was really embarassing :(
