I'm thinking about going to one just for fun, and to see how right they are about me. Have you ever been to one? Did they seem genuine or like they were full of crap? Tell me your stories and experiences, good or bad!

I've been to several, and have only been to one that I wasn't impressed with.

It can be hard to tell the difference between a good psychic and someone talented at reading facial expressions and asking leading questions. Someone skilled in reading microexpressions can come across as psychic just because you're reacting to what they're saying and they tailor their words to that. You cannot control your microexpressions. (To learn more, check here http://www.eyesforlies.blogspot.com/2005/03/micro-expressions-test-yourself.html)

I always go in without any kind of jewelry or identifying clothing. I do not wear my wedding rings and I try very hard to remind myself to remain neutral to what they're saying. These things won't matter to a genuine psychic and it makes it harder for someone who isn't to use what I say to focus their readings. If they ask questions, I try to keep answers simple and straightforward - yes or no usually - and not elaborate.

I went to one psychic in Virigina that was very, very good. She told me a lot about my personal situation without me saying a word, and had a lot of insight into what I was feeling at the time. I went to another one as kind of a joke while we were at a Renaissance fair and she absolutely blew me away. She actually asked my husband to wait outside before he even said anything because she was getting a very negative vibe from him that his scientific, analytical mind won't let him believe and that would interfere with her reading. It's funny, because my husband is an analytical chemist.

After he left, she told me a great many things about my personality, my past, my future, etc. She didn't ask me many questions and I didn't talk much - she did all of the talking and she was really good.

What would this world be like if there really psychic ability?

It has been argued that if psychic power existed, to use it would be "a gross and unethical violation of privacy" and "professions that involve deception would be worthless" There wouldn't be any need for undercover work or spies. Every child molester would be identified immediately. No double agent could ever get away with it. Psychics would be in demand for high paying jobs in banks, businesses and government. Most psychics would be very, very rich.... and since psychics are such altruistic persons, giving up their time to help others talk to the deceased or figure out what to do with their lives, they would be winning lotteries right and left and giving part of their winnings to help the needy. We wouldn't need trials of accused persons: psychics could tell us who is guilty and who is not. The polygraph would be a thing of the past. Of course, the operative word here is if. If psychic power existed the world would be very different.

No one has ever shown, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event.

If they could it would be one of the greatest event's in human history. right up there with landing on the moon.

Really everyone is a lil bit psychic, I have never been to one. But I can tell you that they do exist.

I have seen faces of people in my mind and they appeared. I have also seen and talked to ghosts. But the weirdest thing is having a full out conversation with someone without even saying a word. That and auras are interesting, but are still hard for me to focus. They change very quickly, like a blob of mixing paint.

Tell me how it goes.

I go to a psychic every once in a while....believe in it wholeheartedly. Although, just like horoscopes, one can take anything that a psychic says and apply it to themself. But I felt like she was right on the money about a lot of things. Without me saying a word, she said I'd make a good therapist (which I am) and told me about my plans for the future which she was incredibly accurate about. I suggest having your tarot cards read if you're going for the first time!

Every psychic is different I'm afraid. Unfortunately there are fakes out there, but if its just for fun it shouldn't matter so much to you. If you're trying to find someone a little more genuine however I suggest finding one through a spiritual shop. (One that sells inscence, crystals, etc.) They usualy have a resident psychic that gives readings by appointment or on weekends. Most shops won't stake their reputation on sponsoring a fake.

I thought it was good, but make sure you talk to other people who live by you or friends to see if they have gone to one before you just randomly pick one because my friend went to one before and she said none of the stuff even sounded believable. I went to one last year, the woman told me that one of my sisters was going to be pregnant by april of last year and guess what.. one was. She also told me my dad had died, and that my grandmother wasnt doing to good that she was ready to pass over and guess what she did 2 months after i had gone. Its a scary thing but intresting to have to hear what they say. Its well worth the money if you go to a good one.

Even though I'm not to sure if I would believe, I too would like to go to see what they would say. Everyone that I do know that has been says it can go either way....its all about how you choose to react..

I have gone sometimes... and the good ones have been incredible...

but remember, the future is yours to create... when a psychic predicts the future, they are only tuning in to the future you have subconsciously set up... it can be changed
