the USA of a became into in no way a superpower, it became right into a large customer and nonetheless is. the USA of a has in no way gained a single war in its finished background, different then against Panama's Jungle Parrots and to no longer forget approximately Grenada sheep. It bombed for 23 years a tiny us of a like Vietnam and became into laughed out of the situation by utilising some mole rats and did no longer learn a dimes properly worth from it. WW1 and WW2 the place fought without the USA of a and in basic terms while anybody became into bleed to dying, the USA of a pick a factor and got here using in on the white horse.

-Is the USA on the way down as a superpower???
Not going down really. But China is moving up in the ranks.
-We are fighting a war we cannot win!
Whether we can or can't is still undetermined.
-We have lost most of our industry to foreign interest,
The Dow doesn't seem to agree with you and neither factory productivity
-most of america is outta work or on gov. programs.
With unemployment at under 5% you must be looking at the chart while standing on your head.
-Our borders are open and foreigners take our jobs daily.
They (foreigners) want to be here and you won't mow lawns for what they charge so you are wrong AGAIN.
-Our politicians will do nothing for the american people
What else is new? Political parties have only had their party interest at heart for as long as I've been paying any attention. Where have you been, Pluto?
isn't this all signs of collapse in America???
Nope. It's a sign the USofA is still adapting to the world that is changing.

Unfortunately yes the U.S. is losing it's status as a superpower. There are several reasons for this.
(1) The global economy and outsourcing of jobs. Work that requires an education is being outsourced to countries that pay lower salaries, such as India. As a result fewer people will become educated in these fields in the US. More and more of our scientific and technological work will be done in these countries. There will come a time where even defense systems will be designed by other countries. And these countries have no problems selling to anyone.
(2) Our "Made In China" mentality. We so love our "everyday low prices" that we will do anything to buy our goods in superstores such as Walmart and Home Depot. All that matters to us is getting the lowest price. These monopolistic retailers come in, drive the smaller stores out of business, provide low quality "McJobs" and drive salaries down. Lower salaries mean less spending power, and a lowering of our standard of living. As businesses such as Circuit City fire good workers to replace with low paid workers, our standard of living is going down.
(3) Political Correctness: We are so terrified of offending anyone that we will give up common sense so as not to offend anyone. We are too scared to call a spade a spade and recognize, for example, that Islamic radicals cause terrorism, not little old ladies at airports. We will introduce laws to protect so-called political correct behavior even if it means giving up our freedoms (such as celebrating Christmas at school or stores).
(4) Allowing foreign investment. Other countries are buying out America. We get a massive trade imbalance as we export our raw resources and watch as the finished goods (produced by foreign low paid, and often abused workers) come back by boat loads. Then with their profits, these companies buy our resources, land, and buildings, and pay off our politicians with their lobbyists.
Big Business: It's all about big business and their sacred "bottom line". Nothing else matters. They don't care if a million American workers lose their jobs because China or Vietnam is willing to manufacture the goods for less. The Walmart's of the world will go and negotiate the 12 cents an hour, some Chinese worker makes, so that we can have our Barbie dolls for $9.99. Big business doesn't care about the workers, environment, jobs, being good neighbors etc. All that matters is that you buy their products and that they maximize their short term profit.
The Future:
In 30 years, America will be like India today. We'll have a few filthy rich people and most people will be poor.
China will be the next superpower. Learn to speak and read/write Mandarin.

Not sure about all-out collapse but definitely a time to be extremely concerned about the state of our country that we're leaving for our kids. Wish there was an easy answer, don't you?

The biggest issue is that we have totally lost the respect of the world. We might have the biggest arsenal of weapons and the latest technology, but as you can tell by our "success" in Iraq, that doesn't mean squat!
America is a bully and a warmonger. We have no respect from the world diplomatically and socially. We are laughingstocks due to our "leadership." Any country that could elect TWICE a moron like Bush doesn't deserve respect.
I will work my butt off to elect an intelligent president with vision to restore respect to America. I hope all you other smart folks will work for that goal too.

We are showing some of the sign of what the Roman Empire was experiencing in the early stages of it's decline.(mid 2nd cent. c.e.)
The U.S. is more concerned with defense than we used to be. Our RELATIVE power is declining, compared to other countries.

If the democrats get their way it is. And as far as the war goes, if we would let our military fight it and not let the politicians tie their hands behind their backs, we would win it and be out of there faster than pelosi wants to surrender.
