ok i went to the dr's office yesterday and they told me that i am 1cm dialated and my cervix is at 70% and if i dont have the baby soon then they are going to induce me. i have heard that when medically induced its a very hard and long labor and i would not like that, what are some things i can do to kinda move this baby along? i tried walking but then realized i was feeling very dizzy and lightheaded and saw the doctor and she said all the activity was making my blood sugar drop too low and advised me not to do the walking anymore!! please give me some advice i do not want to be medically induced..thanks

eat before walking and take a drink like gatoraide with you. sex and bumpy car rides help too let someone else drive though

I was induced with my first son, and most likely with the next one.. i was in labor for 11 hours... and it was not bad at all.. I have heard too the rough sex can help move things along... just remember that baby will come when it wants to unless your induced. But being induced is really not that big of a deal.

That's odd that you're doctor would say not to walk anymore. Even if you had dropping blood sugar, I would think they would just suggest you go for a walk after a meal. Anyway...what I reccomend is Evening primrose oil. You can get it at any place that sells vitamins. It comes in soft gels and if you open a couple and push it up near your cervix it will help soften and ripen it a little faster. You can also take 2 capsules by mouth every 6-12 hours and that can help push you into labor. It worked for me within a day.

keep walking just take sum juice or water with u & a snack. i was 5 cm at my 36 wk checkup & i had my baby the next day labor was 6 hrs long. a friend of mine was dilated 1 cm & only got 2 cm. she was induced 1st they inserted a tablet into her cervix every4 hours to help her dilate she only got to 3cm then they tried pitocin. she said her contractions were terrible & had to get an epidural well anyways after almost 24 hrs of labor she was induced. so i would just try the walking again & sex cuz that does help. good luck

i was induced and i was only in labor for about 6 hours and had my little one it all depends on the person but sex i helps i know not very comfortable now but it does work to get things started and a warm but not hot bath can help you relax plus you could ask your dr to strip your membranes that is what started me off and it was very helpful also the dr said if you were very sexually active during pregnancy it can make your labor faster good luck

i wouldn't be too worried about being induced. all that means, is that they introduce Pitocyn ( i don't know how to spell it) through iv which encourages your uterus to start contracting. i was induced with both my children and it was not a major deal.

you're probably causing yourself more stress worrying about it

Try what got you there...sex. That also induces labor.
