I have reinstalled drivers thought that might be the problem, had a trojan got rid of that. I have done all kinds of things to check it but it only once in awhile where i get red and green squiggle lines and only in certain spots. If I run my mouse over the area the color is fine. Can anyone help?

Sounds like you may have a memory issue on your video card. Make sure the fan on the card is working. Otherwise I would say replace the video card.

If absolutely nothing appears on the screen and you are sure its not your monitor then it must be your video card. Unless the computer is making beeping noises when it starts then it is a serious problem somewhere else. But if it starts normally and you just get nothing on the screen then you should try using/purchasing a different video card....

This sounds like it is a problem in your video card.

Make sure you really got rid of the viruses.

Get the latest video drivers.

If you video card memory is going then dropping the colour depth may hide the problem.

If you leave your monitor on excessively, this can happen, it is likely your monitor that is the problem, or check if your video card is in all the way, if it's dusted off and if all the cables are connected properly.

Sounds like a cable issue. I get green spots on my laptop and have to give it a gentle twist to correct it.
