You want a south mission beach BAYfront rental from the Cairncrosses realty. Just call them. Make sure you get parking and are not on the alley or mission blvd proper.

Be prepared to spend money. San Diego isn't cheap and to make the most of the trip, you have to stay near a beach. It is sooo beautiful down there. I would recommend La Jolla, or Coronado, but they're both very pricey but lots to do there. You'll of course be within an hour of Sea World and the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park. All great places to visit. Even if you don't stay in Coronado, be sure to stop by and check out the gorgeous hotel Coronado. It has a ton of history and is said to have a woman that haunts a part of the hotel that died there several decades ago.
This website will be way more helpful than me.

You can find reasonably-priced vacation houses for rent in the Pacific Beach and Mission Beach areas. Most of these are right on the beach, or within 2-3 blocks of it, and are less than 30 minutes from Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Old Town, and great shopping spots. The boardwalk stretches from MB to PB, which does tend to make it a popular spot for locals during the weekends and summer (ie. It gets crowded!)
I've had friends and family of different ages stay for about 2 weeks in one of these vacation rentals in PB, and they had a great time. They spent about 1/2 their time on the beach, and the other 1/2 seeing the sights.
Hope you enjoy your trip!!

San Diego-Sea international, Lego Land, previous city, Downtown, seashores, Cabrillo national Monument and tidal swimming pools, Coronado Island. la-You already suggested Disney and known. there is likewise Highland street, Venice sea coast, Olivero street. there is plenty between the two. Take the scenic course up/down the coast and lead to long island sea coast, Newport sea coast, Laguna sea coast, and/or San Capistrano.

Pacific beach or mission beach is good. Do not stay in la jolla or coronado, you might as well buy a house! lol Also probably around balboa park. Anywhere you stay the beach is like 20-30 minutes away driving.

La Jolla's awesome & expensive. The beach boys even say it in Surfin' USA :):) <3<3<3
(all over la jolla)
La Jolla has good surfing, and there's the children's pools (tide pools) careful---they're really slippery
take off watches-even waterproof...wave pushed me over, watched scraped against sand, got a little crack, water got in display...
La jolla also has a colony of harbor seals, you can't touch them, but they're adorable!!!
Everyone <3's seals
