I think I scratched the inside of my bottom eyelid on the outer corner yesterday when I tried to wipe a few cotton fibers from a towel out of my eye (it hurts like hell when they get stuck under my contacts)--there's a small bump about two mm in diameter, and it hurts to close that eye (not to keep it closed, just actually closing it hurts). It was slightly bigger this morning (about 2 1/2 hours ago), but someone told me to put Neosporin on it and it's gotten smaller, however I'm not exactly sure if it hurts any less. My eye was never swollen and it only hurts if I actually touch my eye where the small bump is (which is why it hurts when I blink), but I don't know if I should do anything; I'm not paranoid and I think it's getting better, but I don't know much about these things and although I really don't want to go to the doctor (it always takes at least a few hours with the wait and everything and I have a lot of work I need to get done today) I'll go if this sounds really serious.

I don't want to go to the doctor anyway "just to be safe" because It's a waste just to hear "sleep it off and it should go away in a few hours." I've gotten weird scratches and cuts before (not in my eye though) and some have gotten a little infected, but they've always gone away with a little Neosporin or whatever else I would have needed to use from a first aid kit. Also, I know it's not bad to put Neosporin in the eye--my friend's doctor told her so. I just want to know if this bump thing is really critical and whether I really need to go to the doctor.

you are in no danger, give it three days to go away, if it doesn't, see a doctor.
