What is up with that?
I am a 21yr female, I've been with my boyfriend for 6yrs and this cramping has only happened the last two times we "made love". I've been taking birth control for about 3 or 4 yrs but the last time my period was over my birth control hadn't come in yet (through the mail) so I went a week after my period with out taking any birth control. I shouldn't get pregnant if we had sex during that week?? Thanks for any answers

It just depends on when your body ovulates. Sperm can live in the uterus for up to 6 days, so even if you didn't oveulate when you had sex you could have ovulated 6 days later, so there is a chance you could be pregnant. Another reason some women cramp after sex is when the head of the penis uses your cervix as a punching bag. If this is the case and sex was a little rougher than usual than the soreness should go away in a day or two. If you find that is the case try tilting your pelvis up during sex to avoid this cervix beating.

Cramping after sex could be a change in your hormones, you could be more sensitive. It could be an STD or a female condition which needs a papsmear to detect. You can get pregnant any day of the month. Birth control is only 98 percent effective when taken correctly, but i took birthcontrol for 3 years and still got pregnant. It only takes one missed pill to leave you fertile, and that last week of pills are placebo pills, they are just sugar, no hormones, so if you were ovulating you were fertile.

Mm...well those would be two different issues maybe, I haven't been on BC in two years, but the cramping is from your muscles being used in that area along with your uterus contracting. Now if you've skipped your pills whether it's by accident or fault, I wouldn't have sex again until you get your body back on track with that...if you skip two or pills, yes, you do run a higher risk of getting pregnant....just becareful.

Actually it is totally possible for you to have gotten pregnant during that time. You should go to your Md to have a blood test done (an OTC pregnancy test can't detect until at least 5 days before your period).

Take a test to be sure. If you continue to cramp call your ob and go see why.

Good Luck.
