one mole of methane weights 16 g

the ratio between CH4 and H2O is 1 : 2 so we would get two moles of water

1 mole of water weights 18 g so we get 36 g H2O

you see from the equation that 1 mole of methanecorresponds to the production of 2 moles of water.
The molecular weight of methane is 16 = 1 mole of CH4 so the answer is 2 moles of water
