If you have not sought out these people, ignore them or report them to your mail provider as SPAM. Chances are they are looking to steal your identity in some way - or short of that, steal your money.

They are mortgage brokers.
Mortgage brokers are very aggressive because the business are not doing well.
The fact they claim to be government approved and certified is correct, since they operate under a license.
A mortgage broker solicit business, package the loan and sell it to investors.
they make their money by charging a fee(points)from the customer.
If you need a loan and your credit is marginal, go to a broker because they have different sources of money and your chances of getting approved is higher.
If you have good credit, go to your local bank the price of borrowing money is much cheaper.(mortgage rates and terms are negotiable)

Do not give ss # or drivers license # without checking the company legitimacy

So they want to give you a loan and you never even asked for it? They are probably just very nice people with a lot of money and are having trouble giving it away.

Not real; usually looking to steal a few thousand in "processing fees" then disapear. See them here all day long.

I'd say they are probably not on the up and up. I guess you should just pay attention to the saying that you should not give personal info to anyone who contacts you.
