I think that it should be legal in the way that alcohol is. You would have to be a certain age to do it and you definitely can't operate anything under the influence of it.

Yes. People use it anyway. Legalizing it allows you to supervise the market (less criminality, no dangerously modified stuff etc) and to educate properly about the effects and dangers of marijuana, so that people actually know what they are taking. It is also submitted that legalization of soft drugs takes away some of the excitement of using them.Use of marijuana is lower in the Netherlands than in many of its surrounding countries (such as France, Britain) where it is not legalized.

For many years I thought it should but now I don't know, considering the St. Louis pitcher who died may have been under the influence when he had accident. I guess I am still for it as long as it is treated like alcohol and you can get DUI.

Just think if most designer drugs were legal, all of the trafficking would not exist and our prisons could hold more murderers and rapists. A lot of murders happen because of the illegal drug trade. If you legalize it then people won't needlessly die. A lot of the inner city crime would be gone as well.

Absolutely YES. Pot is no more harmful than alcohol. In fact, in many ways, is much less harmful.

Although I'm not a pot smoker, at least not for the last 15 years, I do know what it's like to smoke it, and its effects. Too many of the people who want to keep it illegal have never even tried it, so they have no idea as to how harmless it actually is. Now, I'm not saying it's TOTALLY harmless. After all, it is a drug, and with every drug, there are risks. But compared to other drugs, including alcohol and nicotine, pot is very very tame.

I think it should be legal. It helps people concentrate on alot of things. If you just take a few hits. But if you get hella stoned then it is just stupid. When my friends get so ripped you cant tell if there eyes are open and they think everything is funny, I get soo pissed! But I think it should be legal because I havnt EVER heard of someone dying from marijuana but thousands of people die everyday from ciggarettes. Whats up with that?

yes, it would be easier and more cost effective for the government to control the use of it if it was legal than what they are doing. Also 11 states have already approved the use of medical marijuana.

I think it should. I don't care for it, but some people do. I don't think it's any worse than alcohol for you. You don't see the 'drunk driving accident' version of marijuana use. The United States could put a 'sin tax' on the product and profit from it. I do think that it can have very negative affects on a persons cognitive abilities (long term) but people will do what they want.

Personally, I feel that if marijuana is illegal, tobacco should be too. Tobacco might never be illegalized, but its harmful and unhealthy, and it should be. Marijuana is not a "harmless" drug like most people think. Marijuana is a depressant.
