My cousin went through this. She worked the same shift with her fiance. If they got in a fight at work, it came home with them. And the other way around. Finally, they stopped working together. It can cause a lot of problems at home.

I don't see what's wrong with it if you love the person. So many people go away to their jobs all day and barely have any time for their families...look at it that way. At least you get to spend time with your fiancee. I would be happy to work with mine, as long as I had time sometime to do what I wanted.

I personally would not work with the man I am dating due to the fact that you both need sometime away from each other since you see each other alot as it is. Have your own employer and this way you can have something else to talk about since its a different place of employment.

Working together will add stress. You can't go to each other and let off the work steam, and there's no break from each other. Some can hang with it but most find it strains the situation.

It's a problem only if one is the superior of the other or one is very senior from the point of view of work and coworkers suspecting favoritism. Your concern of too much time together is low level.

When my husband and I were engaged we did the same exact job together. It was fun, we were able to share a ride to work and be together all day. We eventually got better jobs and went our separate ways as far as work was concerned. I think you should enjoy it while it lasts. Good luck :)

The only time I noticed that this was an issue for me was one time when I was in a supervisory position over my partner...that caused some issues, but us working together as equals was always fine.

I personally wouldn't do it. It depends on if you work "under" the other or are you equals?
If you feel like it's not a good idea, maybe you should ask for a transfer....if that's not possible, look for something else.

if your getting married then it shouldn't be a problem. I work with my husband and it works. Although I do need my time alone, just work with him and tell him you need some space when your at home. Take a walk alone or go shopping.

I agree, it could be bad if you or he is talking to a work mate of the opposite sex, who will get jealous first?
